No One Asked Me But… (December 20, 2023)

By DR. LARRY MOSES

No one asked me but… Today I would like to center on two provisions of the Constitution of the United States that are among the many that present-day government officials seem to choose to violate with impunity.

Article II Section 1 Paragraph 4 states that: The Congress may determine the Time of chusing (sic) the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.

Does this eliminate the validity of mail-in and early voting? It depends if one reads the Constitution as dealing with the time of selection of the Electors who eventually elect the President, or if one reads it to indicate only the time that the Electors once selected vote on the Presidency.

Keep in mind that the regular American citizens does not vote for a president as they vote for Electors. However, the general consensus of Americans is that a day has been set aside by Congress for them to vote for a President. However, citizens vote for a slate of Party elites in a winner take all scenario. The Electors then cast their vote for the President of the United States. The Elector is not bound to vote as the majority of the people of State vote.

When the Supreme Court was asked to clarify the exact meaning of this provision of the Constitution, it hesitated to do so. If indeed the Court was to deal with this provision as stating that the day in which they shall give their vote applies to vote of the Electors, the Constitution is being met. However, if it is referring to the day that the Electors are selected, there can be no write in or early voting for it states the day shall be the same throughout the United States. It would be nice if the Court would rule before the next presidential election.

Some will contend that all cannot vote on the same day, and therefore, mail in and early voting should be allowed. However, the present-day technology would allow for all to vote on the same day. I can instantaneously communicate verbally, visually and in writing with my grandson who is in Germany. Surely American technology would allow for secure voting from anywhere in the world on the same day.

No one asked me but… Does anyone in Washington, D.C. read, let alone study the history of this country? The Constitution of The United States requires that the federal government shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; …

The dictionary definition of invasion is “an incursion by a large number of people …into a place or sphere of activity…. the act of entering a place in large numbers especially in a way that is harmful or unwanted… the fact of a large number of people or things arriving somewhere …”

When the individual States gave up their sovereignty to the federal government, it was stipulated in the Constitution that the federal government would take over the responsibilities of protecting the individual states from invasion. It also stipulated that it would protect those States from domestic violence, but that is a failure to deal with another day.

At one time all of the United States belonged to the various tribes of Native Americans. The Americans have over the years killed them off or put them on reservations. At one time the original 13 colonies belonged to England. The colonist grew in numbers until they rebelled against England. The loyalist left the new United States and went to Canada or back to England.

Most of the land west of the Mississippi River once belonged to the French crown. America purchased it from France with the Louisiana Purchase. Texas belonged to Mexico until it was invaded by Americans immigrants who fought a war for their independence. In California, Arizona, and New Mexico, American immigrants flooded the area leading to the Mexican- American War. Florida was once claimed by Spain, America bought a portion of it and then took over the rest by the invasion of American settlers.

Alaska was purchased from Russia after the Americans invaded the area during the gold rush. Most of the ethnic Russians left. The Inuit (Eskimos) didn’t have a choice so they became Americans. Hawaii was a monarchy until some Americans staged a coup and it became an American territory. Native Hawaiians didn’t have a choice. The famous saying of the Hawaiians is: “The missionaries taught us to bow our heads and close our eyes when we prayed; when we stood up and opened our eyes we found that the Americans had stolen our land.”

In 1818, the United States and Great Britain established a joint claim over the Oregon Territory which extended all the way to Alaska. However, American settlers flooded the area that is now the states of Oregon and Washington. In 1844, President James K. Polk, campaigned on the slogan of “Fifty-four Forty or Fight!” claiming the entire territory for the United States. The slogan also became a rally cry of settlers who had invaded the territory. The boundary dispute was settled without obtaining “Fifty-Four Forty or Fight.” When England realized the American settlers had invaded the area that is now Oregon and Washington, they struck a compromise that roughly fixed the U.S. boundary at 49º North.

The one common factor in all this expansion was the invading of an area with American immigrants who soon out-numbered the locals who had claims to the territory. We are now seeing the same situation as immigrants from all over the world are being sponsored to invade America. Many of these are young men of military age. I may well be a conspiracy theorist but there seems to be a method in this madness. While we are worried about the invasion of the Ukraine and Gaza, we seem to be blind to the invasion of the United States. It is time for the federal government to step up and stop the invasion on our southern border. Keep in mind it took less than one third of the American colonist to successfully take the colonies from England.

Thought of the week… “The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower. … They will be the head, but you will be the tail…. They will pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, …”
– Deut. 28:43-44

  1. This is precisely why the movement to create a separate school district from CCSD in our part of the county will fail. With Moses at the head of the campaign, the officials at CCSD and in the assembly in Carson City need only to read these constant negative messages every week, ad infinitum, to decide creating a separate school district might not be such a good idea. One only needs to read back issues of Moses comments to realize we don’t want our children exposed to his mentality. Of course his fellow board members will say he’s not running the show but we know better. Keep writing Mr Moses, you are dooming your own project. What you have put down in writing over the years is enough to assure a separate school district will never happen.

    1. It is very obvious that Dr. Moses spends a lot of hours watching Fox News. Invasion? No. Refugees are applying for asylum at our border. They are there legally. Our Border Patrol is doing their jobs. We are not being invaded by an enemy.

Dr. Moses would make it more difficult to vote than buy an assault weapon. The far right knows that they would never win an election if everyone votes. Dr. Moses will vote for a fascist in 2024. That alone is reason to never give him control of anything, much less our public schools.

      1. we don’t have to watch Fox all we have to do is watch all the major cities that are overwhelmed by it influx of illegals crossing the Southern Border & listen to any citizen of any border state about the # of illegal”invaders” they are dealing with daily ; those that are listing to the Democratic open borders advocates are getting a very different picture than the reality that exist in our republic
