PASTORAL MESSAGE: Reawakening to the power of Christmas: Immanuel, God With Us

By PASTOR DUKE TABER
Mesquite Worship Center

Christmas is a time to come together with family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. For Christians, Christmas is a time to rejoice in the gift of God’s love for us, made manifest in Jesus.

But sometimes, we can forget the true power of Christmas. We get so caught up in the rush of buying gifts, preparing food, and putting up decorations that we lose sight of the One at the center of it all.

This Christmas, let’s take a moment to remember the miracle of Immanuel—God with us. Remember that no matter what we’re going through, we are never alone because God is always with us. May this be a Christmas filled with the joy of knowing God is always with us.

The Supernatural Declaration of Immanuel, God With Us:
You might wonder what Immanuel, God with us, has to do with Christmas. After all, it’s not like he’s up on the roof or hidden away in a manger.

But the truth is, Immanuel is always with us. He’s present in the good times and the bad, when we are alone and when people surround us. He’s with us when we’re celebrating and when we’re mourning. He’s with us when we’re happy and when we’re sad.

Christmas is a time when we remember that God is with us. We celebrate his coming to earth as a human being, living among us and experiencing everything we go through. He knows what it’s like to be tired and hungry, to feel pain and sadness. He understands our struggles, and he’s here for us every step of the way.

When we remember that God is with us, it changes everything. We no longer have to face life’s challenges alone. We can find comfort in knowing that he loves us and is always with us.

Experiencing the Presence of God in Our Christmas Celebrations:
What does it mean that the Creator of the universe chose to step into our shoes and experience life as we do? He knows what it’s like to be human, because he was human. And because He knows what we’re going through, He is the perfect Comforter and Guide.

This Christmas, as you celebrate with your family and friends, take a moment to quiet your heart and sense the presence of God with you. He is Immanuel, and He is with us always.

Conclusion: Christmas is a time to remember that God is with us, Emmanuel. Though we may go through difficult times, we can trust that God is with us and will never leave us. In the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle, let’s take a moment to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
