OBITUARY: Charles Wayne Mullenix

Charles Wayne Mullenix

Charles Wayne Mullinex

Charles Wayne Mullenix, known to friends as “Chuck,” was called home on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the age of 71, by his heavenly Father, after a long battle with cancer.

Charles served in the Navy in the early 70’s stationed in Alaska and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the USS Knox. After moving to Mesquite in 2000 he worked for the United States Postal Service and after retirement just wanted a quiet life enjoying his gardening, raising chickens, and working on projects in the perfect garage he always dreamed of owning.

His constant companion, Annie, a Black Lab, was always by his side. She knew if she hung around long enough a treat was sure to be had from her owner’s pants pocket.

Charles had a way in the kitchen, whether grilling up something spectacular or pulling an apple pie from the oven, you could always count on a delicious feast.

“Your presence will be missed but your memory will forever remain in our hearts. How great is God’s goodness to have given you to us to love in our lifetime.”

Charles is survived by his loving wife Sally of 34 years; and his children: Gene, Bill, Lori, and Stacy. Pop Pop will forever be cherished and remembered by his six grandchildren: Zackary, Seth, Jeremiah, Monica, Olivia, and Naomi; and his great grandchildren, Harlow, and Kai.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Toni Mullenix; and siblings, Tommy and Dixie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024, at La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church, 401 Canyon Crest Blvd., Mesquite, NV.
