Webber named champion in Little ‘I’ show

MVHS alumnus Andi Webber exhibited her pig in the Little International Showmanship Contest at North Dakota State University this month. She was named Champion Swine Showman in the show.

A young lady with Moapa Valley agricultural roots put in a great showing at a big livestock contest at North Dakota State University where she attends in Fargo, ND.

Andi Webber, a 2023 Moapa Valley High School graduate, was named the Champion Swine Showman at the 98th annual Little International Livestock Show on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Webber is a college freshman majoring in nursing at NDSU. In showing her fine hog, she showcased the many hours of hard work put in to get the animal ready for the show ring.

During her MVHS career, she was active in junior rodeo events and served as the 2022-23 President of the Moapa Valley FFA Chapter.

The Little International Livestock Show, or Little ‘I’, is put on each year by the NDSU Saddle and Sirloin Club. It is the largest student-run event on the NDSU campus involving over 300 students.

The show features showmanship classes of beef, dairy, sheep, swine, and goats as well as ham curing and public speaking.

The event also honors an Agriculturalist of the Year, honoring an individual who has excelled within the agriculture industry of North Dakota. This year’s Agriculturalist of the Year went to Larry Schnell of Dickinson, ND.
