The Elks Lodge played host to the Ms. Senior Mesquite Pageant fundraiser “Bingo Bash” on Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2024, where the Mesquite Showgirls were on site to lend a hand.

There was a full-house of hopeful bingo players. But socializing with one-another seemed to be the bigger draw. The bingo caller Bob Snell did a good job over the light level of chatter going on. Everyone was clearly having a good time

The current Ms. Senior Mesquite and Ms. Senior Nevada Ann Murphy was present. She reminded the crowd that the winner of the Ms. Senior Mesquite Pageant will also take the title Ms. Senior Nevada and go on to compete in the National, Ms. Senior America Pageant.

The local pageant will be held on April 20 in the Mesquite Community Theater.
The contestants mingled with the players and the showgirls were there to help with the fundraiser.

There were plenty of raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing with the winner receiving $220.00.
Ms. Senior Mesquite contestant Julie Hoffman said that she was also a contestant in 2019. “I took 2nd place and was awarded Ms. Congeniality,” she said. “It was totally awesome, everyone was so friendly. I thought I would try again.”

Another contestant Dana Ferre said, “I am impressed with how organized the pageant is, I have met so many people.”

Becky Boyd, president of Mesquite Showgirls was pleased with the event, commenting, “The fun Bingo Bash afternoon brought in approximately $2300 for the Ms Senior Mesquite Pageant to help continue this wonderful and significant event in our community.” “There has not been a pageant since 2019 and the pageant is hoping, with the continued help of the community, it will go on for years.”
