The Mesquite Community Theater will come alive this week with the comedic drama “Almost Maine,” by John Cariani. The play, put on by the Virgin Valley Theatre Group will open on Thursday evening, March 21.

Beginning in a setting of a magical territory in northern Maine; complete with pine trees and the Aurora Borealis; the stage is set for love.

Under the Direction of Robert Craig, eight different plain-spoken humorous and thoughtful couples experience life-altering relationships under the mystical energy of the northern lights; with maybe a bit of sorcery added in for good measure.

The couples are played by Joy Craig, Robert Craig, Tanner DuCharme, Bethany Green, Wende Killinger, Anya Lindberg, A.J. Martin, Reenie McFarland, William Wright, Chad Calmelot, Heather Abbott, Sasha Green and Cameron Sullivan.

The performances will run from Thursday March 21 through March 30. The Thursday and Friday performances; along with the show held Saturday, Mar. 23; will begin at 7pm. The other shows on Sunday, Mar. 24 and Saturday, Mar. 30 start at 2 PM.

The Mesquite Community Theatre is located at 150 N. Yucca Street.

Tickets are available at the Mesquite Fine Arts Center or online at mctnv.com.
