The Mack Lyon Middle School Marinettes ended their year with a revue to remember and kick starting a new team for the next academic year with hundreds in attendance last month.

“It was packed, all the bleachers were full. The Revue theme was “Here We Go Again” in reference to Mamma Mia,” Marinettes Coach Stephanie Thornton said.

The audience was met with decorum of all white with accents of pink flowers and turquoise shutters to replicate the Hollywood movie.

This included a giant, lit up “M” next to featured photos of each dancer and team member.
“It all went very well!” said Marinette team member and Lyon 8th grader Alexa Villezcas. “It was an amazing production that our coach Steph put on and it was definitely a night to remember!”

The opening performance of a Mamma Mia mix was choreographed by the team’s captains and received shouts of acclamation.

The Marinettes then performed a total of 11 routines, ranging from hip hop, pom routines and dance.
Their last dance was the only lyrical performance of the season named “Slipping through my fingers.” It was choreographed by newly appointed Pirate Motion captain Isabella Mendoza.

The lyrical performance spotlighted the 8th graders who are moving up to high school. Three of which have already made the Pirate Motion dance team. This was their farewell to their middle school years.

The ending had the hearts of all attendees as fathers were able to dance with their daughters in a precious moment in time.
The night ended with the team awards.

The award Dancers of the Year went to Paisley Nelson, Alexa Villezcas and Kailee Kohntopp.
The emcee for the night was teacher Dennis Jarrel who led the crowd through each performance perfectly.

Other performers included the Macho Boys dance, Fusion Pom & Dance and MV Tumblers. The Macho Boys were coached by Thornton with only four days to learn the routine.
“It was a great entertaining evening!” Thornton said. “I couldn’t be more pleased with the turnout and support from our community. I know it’s just a middle school dance so ‘Why the fuss, they aren’t seniors!’ But I think they deserve just as much recognition before they begin a new chapter.”

Thornton expressed gratitude to Lyon Middle School administration and staff, as well as all those who supported and helped throughout the year.
“The night was so much fun, exhausting, the perfect way to end our season,” Marinette First Lieutenant Sawyer Brown said. “I am going to miss our 8th graders so much.”
