Each year for nine years now, Mesquite Realtor Karen Fielding has donated her time to collect food donations from local businesses and individuals, filling her trunk again and again and presenting the food to the Salvation Army Pantry.
This year Fielding collected just under 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food for the food pantry.
“I was so excited to collect so much food,” Fielding said. “My heart overflows at the generosity of our wonderful community. I want to thank everyone that helped fill my trunk.”
Salvation Army employee Starr Flores said that the local Salvation Army is “blessed having Fielding helping us.”
“She spends so much time driving around collecting the food and helping us at the pantry,” Flores said of Fielding. “The Salvation Army once helped her and now she is giving back.”
