The Cancer Warriors, a group of eight local cancer survivors, presented a check for $4,439 to the Mesquite Cancer Help Society during the Mesquite City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 9.
Cancer Help Society President Allen Bell, was in attendance at the meeting to accept the check.
The funds were raised at a “March for all Cancers” walk held last month at the Recreation Center West Field.
Dawn Pecoraro, chairperson of the Warriors committee said, “The event was very well attended and we were pleased with the amount raised to benefit the Mesquite Cancer Help Center,” said Warriors chairperson Dawn Pecoraro of the March. “We are looking forward to an even bigger and better event next year, on March 15, 2025.”
