Miguel Ramos Rico passed away April 7, 2024. He was born in San Martin Hidalgo, MX in 1928.

Miguel led a life marked by hard work, family devotion, and community service. He and his wife Maria traversed borders and regions in pursuit of better agricultural opportunities. Over the years, they settled in various places, finally making their home in Logandale, Nevada where they built a thriving ranch and raised their family. Miguel’s dedication to agriculture and his role as a farmer significantly impacted the Moapa Valley area.

His legacy extends beyond his professional endeavors. Miguel’s commitment to his family and community was unwavering. His contributions to the church and the Knights of Columbus were profound, and his resilience and dedication to his craft will be remembered by all who knew him.

Despite his busy life as a farmer and his later employment at Simplot Silica, Miguel always made time for his family, cherishing moments of joy and laugher with them. He lived the American dream and maximized the opportunities afforded to him during his 62 years in the Moapa Valley.

Miguel’s passing leaves behind a loving family including two sons and four daughters: Josefina (Jimi) Wilasino of Logandale, NV, Amelia (Sergio) Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV, Francisca (Jaime) Carvajal of San Diego, CA, Benino (Jenie) of Overton, NV, Miguel Jr., and Soledad (Jose) Garcia of Moapa, NV; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, Paula Martinez.

While he is mourned by many, the celebration of Miguel’s life will take place with visitation and funeral Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church on April 18, 2024. Visitation will be held from10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the Rosary from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the funeral Mass from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the Logandale Cemetery, with a Repast at St. John’s Catholic Church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., where food will be provided for friends and family to gather and remember Miguel’s life with fondness and gratitude.
