Cynthia DeLayne Dotson

Cynthia DeLayne Dotson, age 68 died Thursday, April 25, 2024, in St George, Utah. She was born July 8, 1955, in Shurz, Nevada to Everlene Swain.

Before age two, she was adopted by Robert William and Barbara Dotson. After Barbara’s early death, Robert married Mary Alice Cook. Cynthia, always grateful and looking for good, often commented that she was blessed with three mothers that loved her. She was also very fond of her three grandmothers, Mattie Dotson Cottam, Alice Sprague, and Topsy Swain.

Cynthia graduated from Moapa Valley High School. She moved to Reno where she worked and earned her beautician’s license. After a few years in Reno, she made the decision to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the San Diego California Misson. After her wonderful missionary experience, she began working as a payroll clerk for Meadow Valley Construction. She later secured employment at the Moapa Indian Reservation as the secretary of the Justice Court. She was respected for her knowledge and organization in all her jobs. She loved making crafts, but her greatest joy came from interaction with her nieces and nephews and later with their children.

Survivors include brother, Kenneth Dotson of Canada; sister Lita Pace of Cedar City Utah; nephews: Jared Pace, and Clancy Pace (Madeleine) and niece Chante Diaz all of St George, UT; and niece Tiffany Leigh of Toelle; and great nieces and nephews: Cove Pace, Roczen Pace, Xander Pace, Axel Pace, Amariah Diaz, Faith Diaz, Dante Diaz, and Grace Diaz all from St George, Utah, and Bane Roberts.

A viewing will be held at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, Tuesday April 30, ,2024 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 1, 2024, at 10:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Logandale Chapel, 3245 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale Nevada. Visitation will be one hour prior at the Chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
