The top two undefeated teams in the Parks and Rec Co-ed Softball league faced each other last week on Thursday, June 20 at the Logandale Ballfields Complex.
Last week’s article was corrected as a game score was misreported with a mixup of two teams. Team Duvall actually beat the Moapa Heat, 25-1, on June 13.
And so the two undefeated teams: Team Duvall (3-0) and Team Stratton (3-0) hit the field last week in a battle to see who would remain at the top of the league.
The streak continued for Team Duvall as they downed Team Stratton by a score of 14-9, staying solo in first place.
Team Duvall continued undefeated as they downed the Swingers in their second game scoring another nine runs over Swingers’ three runs.
Meanwhile, even though Team Stratton dropped the one game, they picked up their bats and got hot again, as they beat Dirt Bags 22-4 in their second game of the night.
The full game results for the evening were as follows: Moapa Heat 17 vs. Hit & Run 14, Team Duvall 14 vs. Team Stratton 9, Team Stratton 22 vs. Dirt Bags 4, Dirt Bags 2 vs. Swingers 10, Swingers 3 vs. Team Duvall 9.
The new standings after week 3: 1-Team Duvall (5-0), 2-Team Stratton (4-1), 3-Moapa Heat (2-2), 4-Hit & Run (2-3), 4-Swingers (2-3), 5-Dirt Bags (0-5).
Kuppa Joe cooked up the famous Bernie Burger and ran the concessions for everyone present.
The games for Week 4 take place on Thursday, June 27 starting at 6 p.m. with one game on Field 1 and then two games each hour afterwards with the last games ending around 9:00 p.m.
