Moapa Valley Progress
It was a wild week for the Pirates tennis teams. Three matches were scheduled, only one match was played, and two trips to Vegas were taken.
The first match, played Wednesday, was the only match played. The Pirates travelled to Virgin Valley where both Moapa Valley teams came away with 16-2 wins.
On the boys side Conner Batty, Chase Hadley and Adam Smedley finished 3-0 in singles matches. Doubles team Slade Graham and Gavin Hadley also was undefeated at 3-0.
On the girl’s side, Jurnie Crawford and Lillian Leavitt finished with 3-0 records. Virgin Valley could not field a full team.
The Pirates travelled all the way to Basic High School on Thursday only to reload the bus and return home due to rain. On Friday the team set out for Boulder City and made it as far as Apex before the call came that the match was cancelled.
This week the Pirates travel to Del Sol Thursday before they head out to Boulder City on Friday in an attempt to play in a make-up match.
Moapa Valley is tied for first with Boulder City in both the boys and girls league standings with records of 3-0.
