(Mesquite Police Department) On Monday, August 15, Mesquite Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle that was stolen during a burglary at a pest control business the day prior around 9:30 a.m.
While conducting a thorough investigation of the crime scene, officers determined the suspect entered the property through a window while the business was closed. Officers collected several pieces of evidence that would aid in the identification of the suspect, to include a shoeprint and video surveillance. Officers began a search for the suspect and the stolen vehicle. Later that day, the abandoned stolen vehicle was located in Arizona, and was returned to the business.
The following evening, a detective located the suspect walking in a casino parking lot. The detective detained the male to investigate further, and noticed he was wearing the same clothing and shoes that he wore during the burglary and theft of the vehicle. The detective then safely took the male into custody.
