MVHS Soccer Kicks Into Gear

The Soccer program at Moapa Valley High School has shown marked improvement in recent years. Robby Babb made the 1st team goal keeper last season in the league while Kim Sprague was 1st team goal keeper on the girls side. This means that each team will return this year with solid anchors on defense.

Last year, the girls finished the season 4-11-1. The boys finished the season 2-10-2.

Coach Swanson is back for his second season. He coached both teams last year. This year he has given up coaching the girls’ team to Coach Kaelyne Pendleton.

In the state, Truckee has been the soccer power house in the 3A in recent years. Both of their boys and girls teams have won Championships.

The league plays 2A and 3A teams all together. Faith Lutheran Girls won the League Championship last year while Virgin Valley won the Boys. The 4A boys play in the fall while their girls play in the winter do to the lack of field space at the schools.

The Moapa Valley Soccer field is at Lyon Middle School.
