Gearing Up For MVHS Sports

By Dave Belcher

Moapa Valley Progress

Boy, was it ever a quick summer? Moapa Valley High School Football begins at 10 p.m. tonight. Players will be signing up and turning in all paperwork to get started with practices. All freshman and juniors must have a physical examination before they can begin practice.

This doesn’t just include football players. Each high school athlete will need a packet and a ten dollar concussion fee.

Football will actually start at 12:01 A.M. tomorrow morning as the annual Moapa Valley boot camp begins in full force.

This is 10 days earlier than usually due to the game the Varsity Team is playing against Show Low high school in Glendale Arizona the home of the Arizona Cardinals and the Fiesta Bowl. That game will be on Saturday August 20 at 2:30 P.M.

All other high school sports will officially start on August 15.

Players can contact the high school for information on camps and start times for specific sports.

As the seasons get started coaches get excited to have the athletes come prepared for the start. Students should make sure that the paper work is complete and physical examinations done. Sports packets are available at the MVHS front office. Completed packets should be turned in to Mrs. Keel in the athletic office or to coaches on the first day of practice.
