Moapa Valley High School quarterback Zach Hymas has made a verbal commitment to join the football program at Weber State in Ogden, Utah. Hymas can finalize his choice on February 4 when he can sign a letter of intent to attend Weber State.
Hymas was named the most valuable player in the Sunset region of the Division I-A and helped lead the Pirates to the state I-A championship last month. This last season, as a senior, Hymus completed 60% of his passes for 2,159 yards with 26 touchdowns, throwing only four interceptions for the year.
Over his two seasons as the starting quarterback Hymas helped the Pirates to a 25-1 record. The only loss was to Fallon last year in the semi-final game. In those two seasons Hymas threw for 3,971 yards and 51 touchdowns.
