Southern 3A – Sunrise
Last week with spring break there were no league games played. However, there were two tournaments where southern schools participated at the beginning of the week.

Boulder City
The Eagles continued to struggle last week as they played in the Grizzly Invitational at Spring Valley with four losses in four games.
In their first game the Eagles lost to Legacy 6-5. The Eagles held a 5-1 lead headed into the bottom of the fifth inning. They had scored twice in the top of the fifth for a good-sized lead. But Legacy scored 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut the Eagles lead to one. The Longhorns won the game by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth to get the win.

In their second game, the Eagles were beaten by Spring Valley 16-0. Boulder City was held to 4 hits in the game. Spring Valley had 14 hits and scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first, 5 runs in the bottom of the second and 7 runs in the bottom of the third.
In the third game the Eagles lost to Bonanza 8-7. The Bengals opened the game up with 3 runs in the first and 3 more in the second. Boulder City scored 2 runs in the top of the third and 3 runs in the top of the fourth. Boulder City tied the game in the fifth and took a 1 run lead in the sixth with a run. Bonanza won the game with 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Moapa Valley beat Boulder City 21-8 in their fourth game of the week.

Chaparral
The Cowboys hosted their own Cowboy Classic playing four games in three days and losing just one of the four.
They lost the first game of the tournament against Valley High School, 5-1. The Vikings took a 3-0 lead in the third inning before the Cowboys scored their only run in the top of the fifth. Valley scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth for the final score. Chaparral finished with 5 hits in the game.
In the second game of the tournament for Chaparral the Cowboys played Cheyenne and pounded the Desert Shields 17-1.

In the third game on Tuesday the Cowboys played Pahranagat Valley and beat the Panthers 5-2. The Panthers scored 2 runs in the top of the second inning. But that was it for the game as the Cowboys tied it in the fifth with a run in the bottom half. The Cowboys won the game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth then held on the win. The Panthers had just three hits in the game while Chaparral finished with 8.
In the final game, Chaparral beat Clark 10-0 with two runs in the fourth inning then 8 runs in the fifth for the win.

Del Sol
The Dragons also played in the Cowboy classic. In the first game they played Pahranagat Valley and came back to beat the Panthers 11-8. Alamo scored first with a run in the first inning. Then Del Sol had two big innings with 4 runs in the third inning and 5 in the fourth for a lead.
The Panthers scored 2 runs in each of the bottom half of the third and fourth. Del Sol would score 2 more runs in the top of the sixth then held on for the win as the Panthers scored three runs in the bottom half of the sixth then ran out of time.
The Dragons beat Eldorado in 14 innings 3-2.

SECTA
The Roadrunners played in the Cowboys Classic and were beaten by Desert Pines 6-2. SECTA took a 2-1 lead by the fourth. Desert Pines would score 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good.
In their second game the Roadrunners beat Clark 9-8. Clark had a 7-2 lead in this one but allowed 5 runs to SECTA in the bottom of the fifth to lose the game.
SECTA beat Cheyenne 11-1 in the third game in five innings.
SECTA and Eldorado scored a 6-6 tie as the game was called due to darkness.

Virgin Valley
The Bulldogs played in the Chaparral Cowboy classic where they beat Eldorado, 9-1, in their first game of the tournament. The Bulldogs scored a run in the first inning, then 4 in the third and 4 in the fifth. Eldorado scored their only run in the bottom of the sixth for the final score.
In their second game the Bulldogs played Pahrump Valley and were beaten 8-0. The Trojans scored a run in the bottom of the second then added 3 runs in the third and 4 runs in the forth. Virgin Valley had 5 hits in the game.
The Dawgs lost 8-7 to Pahranagat Valley in their final game of the week.

Southern 3A – Sunset
Desert Pines
The Jaguars were beaten by Clark 8-2 in the Cowboy Classic. Clark scored 7 runs in the fourth to take control.
Desert Pines lost to Valley 8-3 in the final game of the Cowboy Classic.

Cheyenne
Cheyenne was beaten by Valley 14-5 in the second game of the Cowboy Classic. Cheyenne built a 4-5-2 lead by the end of the second inning just before Valley would score 4 runs in the third then 5 runs in the fourth.

Mojave
The Rattlers were 2-0 in their first two games of the Cowboy Classic. The Rattlers beat Pahranagat Valley 9-3. Rattler pitching held the Panthers to 3 hits in the game.
They then beat Del Sol 4-2. The Dragons took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Mojave scored 1 run in the second, 2 in the third and 1 run in the sixth.
Mojave beat Valley 7-1 in their third game of the tournament. Mojave scored a run in the second inning then 2 runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

Pahrump Valley
The Trojans were part of the Cowboy Classic where they played Eldorado in their first game and lost 4-3. The game was tied headed into the sixth where Eldorado scored a run for the win.
The Trojans qualified for the tournament championship with a 6-0 win over Desert Pines. The Trojans scored their first run in the top of the fourth inning then scored 5 runs in the bottom of the seventh to put a little icing on the game.
Willie Lucas pitched a no-hitter for the Trojans to win the Cowboy Classic 5-0 over Mojave.
