Moapa Valley Progress
Just as the momentum began to build for the MVHS boys’ soccer team, they encountered a loss.
On September 12, a Sunrise Mountain team that was 2-0 barrelled into Moapa Valley and scored eight goals on the Pirates. This included their first goal made in the opening fifteen seconds of the game.
The Pirates finished with two goals of their own, both scored by Tim Hoffman. The halftime score was 3-1.
On Friday, September 16, the Pirates traveled to Mojave and played to a 1-1 tie. The Rattlers led at the half at 1-0 with a goal by Roosevelt Solois.
Moapa’s Manny Lindauer’s scored his game tying goal in the 2nd half.
Mohave is yet to win a game as they have an overall record of 0-3-2.
The Pirates are 3-3-1 but the first two games of the season saw a lot of JV players play in the Mesquite cup to start the season which the Pirates lost 2 of 3.
Right now in 3A soccer league play The Meadows and Virgin Valley are both in first place at 1-0. Boulder City and Moapa have yet to play a league game. Adelson School is 0-2 in the league. Virgin Valley also had a loss on Friday against Foothill 2-1. The Dawgs are 2-6-1 on the season. Boulder City’s game was rained out Friday against Basic. The Eagles are 2-3-0 on the season.
