Moapa Valley High School Boys and Girls Tennis teams saw their regular season come to an end with a final win over SECTA last week. In the Sept. 26 meet, the boys’ team captured a 13-5 victory.
The undefeated doubles team of Chase Kruse and Tyler Peterson continued to dominate the courts.
The “Hadman” Chase Hadley beat the Roadrunners adding to his collection another 3-0 set win.
Great sets were also won by Conner Batty and Darren Hardy.
The girls finished out the season with a victory over the Roadrunners capturing the #1 seed for their division. Coming into the first round of team playoffs, they are sure to advance for a first-time-ever chance to attend the state playoffs in Reno.
Lindsey Leavitt and Kinzi Robinson continue to dominate their opponents holding onto the #1 seed going into the state playoffs. Doubles team Morgan Aikele and Lily Leavitt rocketed right past their opponents for a 2-0 contribution to the team win.
Both teams then began their first round of the playoffs over the weekend. The Boys team was eliminated from the playoffs in a 10-9 final against Desert Pines.
The Moapa Valley Girls team tied for first with Boulder City and played Adelson school coming away with a 17-1 win in the first round.
But in the second round match Saturday Desert Pines beat the Pirates 10-9 in a tie breaker which the Jaguars won 4-2.
