Northern 3A
Standings
Truckee 6-0, Spring Creek 6-0, Elko 5-1, South Tahoe 5-1, Fallon 3-3, Fernley 2-4, Wooster 1-5, Lowry 1-5, Sparks 1-5 and Dayton 0-6.

Sparks at Truckee
The #2 team in the state of Nevada hosted Sparks for homecoming and came away with a huge 63-15 win last week. That is what we are used to seeing from Truckee during their run four years ago.
The Wolverines scored twice in the first quarter and twice in the second quarter. Then they scored four more touchdowns in the third quarter just for good measure. The final one came in the fourth.
Sparks scored once in the third and once in the fourth for the final 63-15.
Truckee Quarterback Jayden Commendatore threw the ball 12 times completing 8 of them for 129 yards and a touchdown. He also threw 2 interceptions which makes a total of 3 for the season.
Cole Harrity had the most carries for the Wolverines and total yards with 115 and 2 touchdowns. Wulfe Retzlaff scored 3 touchdowns as the short yardage runner ran the ball 5 times for 57 yards. Noah Williams carried the ball 5 times for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ian Schmidg scored once from a yard out.

Truckee had 347 total yards on the ground and 476 total for the game. Jake Holmes caught 2 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Sparks had 165 yards rushing with Hunter O’Meara carrying the ball 13 times for 109 yards and a touchdown. Sparks used two quarterbacks with a combined total of 17 yards passing and 2 interceptions on 3-9 passing. They had 182 total yards of offense.
Truckee will now travel across the state of Nevada to Spring Creek in a battle between the two undefeated teams in the north. This is definitely the game of the week in all the 3A.

Fallon at Elko
Boy, does a year ever make a huge difference! The Fallon Green Waves continues to struggle as they lost to Elko on Friday, 30-24 in triple overtime.
Fallon scored with Cade Vercellotti scoring from ten yards away. The extra point missed and Fallon held a 6-0 lead at half time.
Elko’s Kyrin Allen scored on a reverse with 6:54 to play in the third then had their extra point blocked for a tied game 6-6.

Fallon took the lead at 12-6 failing to convert the 2 points conversion. Elko then return the kickoff for a touchdown by Allen. Again the extra point was blocked for a tie 12-12 by the end of regulation.
Each teams ran for touchdowns on their first possessions in overtime with Elko blocking Fallon’s extra point try and Elko fell short on their 2 point try. Elko scored first in the next overtime period on a 13-yard pass from Klekas to Smith. The extra point was blocked again. Fallon scored on the first play with a run by Vercellotti but the quarterback was sacked on the 2 point try 24-24.
Fallon had the turn first in the third overtime and Nelson was intercepted in the end zone on fourth down. On Elko’s first play Byington scored from ten yards out for the win 30-24.
Fallon ended the game with 343 yards of total offense, 196 rushing and 147 passing.

South Tahoe at Wooster
South Tahoe beat Wooster 42-10. It was the Vikings fourth consecutive win.

Lowry at Dayton
This was a game of the winless as the Lowry Buckaroos came away with a slim 14-6 win over the host Dayton Dust Devils.

Spring Creek at Fernley
What a choice for Fernley when it came to homecoming. The choice cost them as they were beaten by Spring Creek 53-12.
The game was tied 6-6 after the first quarter then the Spartans scored three times holding Fernley to a touchdown for a 26-12 lead at halftime.
Spring Creek scored 20 more points in the third quarter then one more touchdown in the fourth.

Southern 3A
Desert Pines at Mojave
Desert Pines scored a 20-0 win over the Mojave Rattlers. Desert Pines really struggled to get the offense moving as they only had 185 total yards of offense. 98 yards came from rushing. Isaiah Morris ran the ball 14 times for just 68 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Randal Grimes was 3-5 passing for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Gabriel Lopez scored the Jaguars first touchdown in the first quarter. It was on a blocked punt he picked up and returned 30 yards for a touchdown.

Morris scored the second Jaguar touchdown on a 1 yard run in the second quarter with 6:56 to play in the first half. Morris scored his second touchdown and the team’s final score with a 32-yard reception with 4:54 to play in the game.
Desert Pines is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. Mojave is 0-6.

Pahrump Valley at Cheyenne
The Trojans suffered a 42-10 loss to Cheyenne on Friday. The Trojans took the lead in the first quarter when Parker Hartt got to the end zone from a yard out. So they held a 7-0 lead for four minutes and forty seconds.
Then Cheyenne’s William Federson caught a 21-yard pass from Matthew LaBonte. Then converted the 2-point conversion.
Cheyenne took control from there. A safety, then three straight touchdowns in the second quarter built the lead.
Cheyenne threw for 222 yards as LaBonte was 11-17 with 3 touchdowns. James Henry had 8 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. They finished with 185 yards rushing and 407 yards total offense.
Pahrump Valley had 186 total yards as Parker Hart threw for 34 yards on 4-12 passing. Nickolas Redmond had 1 run for 78 yards to lead the Trojans in yards rushing.

Western at Sunrise Mountain
Sunrise Mountain remains undefeated in the Sunset as they came away with a 48-6 win over the Western Warriors. The Miners scored all eight of their touchdowns before Western scored on the final play of the game. The Miners had 370 yards of total offense while Western came up with 230. Sunrise Mountain had 228 yards rushing lead by Claude Moore’s 92 on 9 carries.

Chaparral at Las Vegas
The Cowboys were beaten with 46 seconds remaining in the game at Las Vegas High School. Chaparral held a 13-6 lead after the first quarter. Vegas then scored the next two touchdowns for a 20-13 halftime. Chaparral took the lead for the last time with 8:24 to play when Tyray Collins returned a 78-yard punt for a touchdown.
Las Vegas ended with 403 yards total offense: 299 yards rushing and 104 yards passing. Chaparral had 246 yards total offense with 7 yards rushing and 239 yards passing.

Del Sol at Boulder City
Del Sol took a 26-7 lead by halftime and added 13 more in the fourth quarter for the win. Del Sol had 530 yards total offense with 466 yards rushing Taariq Flowers had 290 yards rushing to lead everyone. He scored 3 touchdowns. Titan Williams scored 2 touchdowns on 154 yards rushing.
The Eagles finished with 229 yards total offense on the night.
