Pirate Tennis Triumphs Over Bulldogs

The Moapa Valley High School Tennis teams hosted Virgin Valley last week.
The Pirate girls’ team beat the Bulldogs 15-3. Jurnie Crawford finished with a 3-0 singles record. Morgan Aikele and Lillian Leavitt were 3-0 in doubles as well as Averee Widdison and Aubrey Aikele who finished 2-0 in doubles.
Courtney Zerkle and Amber Ables also finished 2-0 in doubles play.

The Moapa Valley Boys also won big by the score of 14-4. Chase Hadley finished 3-0 in singles play. Adam Smedley was 2-0 in singles play while Slade Graham and Gavin Hadley finished with a 3-0 record in doubles.

The Pirates will finish the regular season this week. They host two home matches. The first was Monday night against league leading and undefeated Boulder City. The Pirates will then host SECTA on Wednesday in the final match of the year. SECTA is in third place in both the boys’ and girls’ while the

Pirates are in second place in both the boys’ and girls’ with just one league loss, that being to Boulder City. Regionals will start next week.
