Pirate Tennis Hosts Three Matches

The Moapa Valley High School Tennis teams hosted three matches last week: the final two regular season games and a first round playoff game.

In the two regular season games, Moapa Valley played Boulder City on Monday. The Eagles team is one of the two undefeated teams in the south.
On the girls side, the Pirates lost 12-6. Though, Morgan Aikele and Lillian Leavitt were undefeated for the Pirates in doubles at 3-0.

On Wednesday, the Pirates hosted SECTA and beat the Roadrunners 12-6. Aikele and Leavitt were undefeated at 3-0 again in doubles play. Jurnie Crawford was also undefeated at 3-0 in singles.

Saturday the Pirates hosted Cheyenne, the third seed in the Sunset. The Moapa team came away with an 11-7 win. The Doubles teams of Aikele and Leavitt were undefeated at 3-0 as well as Courtney Zerkle and Amber Ables. The girls will travel to The Meadows on Tuesday for a match against the Sunset champions.

On the boy’s side, Boulder City beat the Pirates 17-1 on Monday.
On Wednesday, the Pirates played and beat SECTA 11-7. Chase Hadley, Adam Smedley and the doubles team Slade Graham and Gavin Hadley were all undefeated at 3-0.
