Pirate Track Sweeps Del Sol Meet

Moapa Valley Progress

The Moapa Valley High School Track teams travelled to Del Sol last week where they competed against Virgin Valley, Del Sol, Laughlin and Lake Mead Christian.

It was a great performance by both Pirate teams as Moapa Valley won both the boys’ and girls’ team contests. The Boys won with 119 points, Virgin Valley finished second with 86 points while Del Sol finished third with 80 points. The Moapa Valley girls scored 134 points while Virgin Valley finished second with 106 points. Del Sol finished third with 54 points.

Individually outstanding performances happened in all events for the Pirates. Coy Overson finished seventh in the 100 meters. Faith Witter placed sixth in the 200 meter with LeeAnn Perkinsfinishing seventh and Hannah Williams eighth.

Ashlyn Western placed second in the 400 meters while Alexis Schraft finished third and Bailey Bunker eighth.
Western won the 800 meters with Andi Hillstead and McKinley Bledsoe finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Hillstead placed second in the 1600 meters with Bledsoe finishing fifth and Laura Adams eighth.
Shelby Olsen won the 3200 meters.
Natalie Mills place second in the 100-meter hurdles and first in the 300 meters hurdles. Andrea Mogren finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles.

Mariah Mendoza won the shot put with Bailey Bond placing fifth and Kayla Walters placing sixth.
Mendoza also won the discus with Walters placing fourth, Alissa Wolfley placing fifth and Samantha Hoe sixth.

Kyla Bradshaw placed second in the high jump, Shyanne Matheson fourth.
Hanna Watson place first in the pole vault. Mogren was second in the long jump and Watson fifth. Mogren won the triple jump with Watson placing third.

In the Boy’s meet Greg Morrissey place second in the 100 meters and second in the 400 meters while Tristan Lehman placed fifth in the 100 meters and fourth in the 200 meters. Grady Call place third in the 400 with Taylor Landini finishing fourth.

Landini finished sixth in the high jump. Preston Humes finished eighth.
Jerrick Stastny won the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters with Evan Conger finishing second in the 1600. Gabriel Leavitt placed fifth in the 3200.

Garrett Clove placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles and finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the high jump while Hunter Davis finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.
Kaleb Frankford finished fifth in the shotput, Josh Leavitt finished seventh and Jesse Robison finished eighth.

In the Discus Josh Leavitt finished first, Frankford second and Kellen Wallace third.
Josh Lee won the pole vault and placed third in the triple jump. Yadon Witsken placed third in the pole vault and seventh in the triple jump. Will Uri finished fifth in the long jump and the pole vault while Luke Hauver finished sixth in the pole vault and sixth in the triple jump. Lehman finished first in the long jump.
