Southern 3A-Sunrise
Clark at Virgin Valley
Last year Clark destroyed the Bulldogs 49-26. This year the Dawgs took a 28-8 lead then had to hold on stopping the Chargers a touchdown short and getting a 28-20 win.
Wyatt Delano ran for 109 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Meb Hollingshead threw for 100-yards and a touchdown that was caught by David-Shane Carson. Tanner Fielding ran for just under 100 yards for the Bulldogs scoring one touchdown. Virgin Valley will travel to Pahrump Valley this Friday.

Rancho at Las Vegas
The Rancho Rams are now a member of the 3A Sunrise. Last Friday night the Rams travelled to Las Vegas High School for the Bone Game, a tradition that has seen Las Vegas win the last twenty-two times.
Nothing has changed. The idea of it being a rivalry anymore should be forgotten. There needs to be winning by both teams to justify a rivalry.
Las Vegas thrashed the Rams 47-0. But it took two days to do it. A power failure postponed the game Friday night at half time. The game resumed at 9am Saturday morning.
The Wildcats held a 19-0 lead at halftime. They returned Saturday morning with three touchdowns in the third quarter. Vegas finished with 399 total yards of offense: 213 rushing led by Cody Summer with 83-yards and 3 touchdowns. Rancho had 69-yards of total offense.

Southern 3A-Sunset
Cimarron at Cheyenne
Cheyenne beat the Spartans 35-19. Cheyenne scored twice in the first quarter. The first was on a 47-yard pass from Joshua Rose to Enrique Zavvalza midway through the first. Then Rose found Rayvion Brown three minute later for the two touchdown lead.
The Spartans scored midway through the second on a 2-yard run from Jordan Norwood the first of two for Norwood. Cheyenne answered each Spartan touchdown with one of their own.
Charles Tooks scored a rushing touchdown for Cheyenne on a 48-yard run to finish the game.
Rose finished with 192-yards passing. Cheyenne had 312 yards of total offense.

Desert Oasis at Del Sol
Desert Oasis was riding a 13-game losing streak headed into this game. But that ended with a 44-13 win over the Dragons
The Diamondbacks had put three touchdowns on the board, before the Dragons could score any, after Trey Alexander finished a drive with 18 seconds remaining in the first half for a 16-6 Desert Oasis lead. A blocked punt return was the first touchdown then a 50-yards pass reception and a safety were Desert Oasis’ first half scores.
The Diamondbacks dominated the third quarter with three touchdowns.
Del Sol finished with 184-yards of total offense with just 43-yards rushing. Desert Oasis had 455-yards total: 265 rushing and 190 passing.

Democracy Prep at Coronado
Democracy Prep beat 4A Coronado 12-10 in their first game as a 3A school.
Coronado scored twice in the first quarter. The first on an 86-yard kick return on the opening kick. They then scored a 22-yard field goal with 4:42 to play in the first quarter not scoring again in the game.
Steven Burgess scored for the Blue Knights on a 3-yard run in the second quarter. Then Vanell Meeks scored on a 5-yard run in the third for the game winner.
The Blue Knights had 215-yards of total offense while the Cougars finished the game with 222-yards.
The Blue Knights travel to Moapa Valley this Friday night for the home opener for the Pirates.

Pahrump Valley at Lowry
The Trojans travelled to the north and played the Lowry Buckaroos of Winnemucca. They were beaten in the final two minutes. Lowry scored two last minute touchdowns to get the win.
Brendan Domire connected with Preston Snow for the 41-40 win over the Trojans.
Pahrump Valley lead 24-13 at halftime and 32-13 in the third quarter. Lowry scored twice to cut the Trojan lead to 40-27 by the end of the third quarter.
It was a long ride home for the Trojans.

Bonanza at Valley
The Valley Vikings first game as a small school came with them suffering a 21-0 shutout in the hands of the Bengals. Bonanza scored on an 84-yard pass from Kyle Addison to Shamarion Bellegarde then a second touchdown involving the same two from 10-yards. Justin Bacon ran a 24-yarder in for the final touchdown of the game.

Northern 3A
Fernley at Truckee
Fernley was last years top seed in the state tournament and were defeated by Mojave 42-13 in the semi-final game at home to end their season.
Last Saturday night in Truckee, Fernley was between in the first game or the season, a league game, 34-17.
Truckee quarterback Marcus Bellon was 7-8 passing for 70-yards and 2 touchdowns. Marcus Trotter had 119-yards rushing and a touchdown on 9 carries.

Other scores: Yerington beat Dayton 16-6, Douglas beat Sparks 59-22 and Bear River pounded South Tahoe 50-2 at South Tahoe.
