The Moapa Valley High School Tennis teams had a grueling week with no less than four matches on the schedule.
They started the week on Monday, Aug. 27 against The Meadows School. The Mustangs are one of the favorites to win the state title. The Pirate girls were beaten 18-0. Then the Mustangs beat the Pirate boys team 12-6.
The Pirates then hosted Sunrise Mountain on Wednesday. where the girls won by a forfeit 12-0 and the boys won 14-4.
On Thursday the Pirates hosted Basic. The Moapa girls beat the Wolves 10-8. Both doubles teams for the Pirates were 2-0 including the teams of Averee Widdison/Courtney Zerkle and Floor Dieleman/Elin Rohdin. Chase and Gavin Hadley as well as Adam Smedley where all 2-0.
In the final match of the week both Pirates teams beat the Bulldogs in Virgin Valley 14-4 on Friday in Mesquite.
The teams will be busy this week as well, with games at Mojave Wednesday and a home match against Adelson School on Thursday.
