The Moapa Valley High School Tennis teams travelled to Boulder City on Monday, September 24, and were both beaten by the Eagles.
The girls team lost 12-6. Olivia Goodfellow and Olivia Mikkelson each scored 3-0 records in singles. Tegan Pappas and Eugenia Kryshchuk scoring a 3-0 record in doubles for the Eagles.
The boy’s team were beaten 13-5. Chase Hadley finished with a 2-1 record in singles while Connor Mikkelson was 3-0 for the Eagles. Karson Bailey and Ty Pendleton finished with 3-0 record in doubles for Boulder City.
The Pirates hosted the Virgin Valley Bulldogs on Tuesday, September 25.
The Pirate boys finished with an 11-7 win. Luke Hauver finished 3-0 with Rou Hoe finishing 2-0 both in singles. Hunter Wzresinski and Slade Graham were 2-0 in doubles play.
The girls team match went into a tie-breaker where the Pirates won 5-1 to win. Britnee Leavitt finished with a 2-0 record for the Pirates. Emma Wilson was 3-0 for Virgin Valley in singles while Willa German and Elise Dick were 3-0 in doubles for the Dawgs.
Later in the week, the Pirates travelled to Eldorado for a makeup game from the beginning of the season when Eldorado asked to postpone the match. Being Homecoming week for Moapa Valley, the Pirates were short-handed and were beaten by the Sun Devils, 13-6.
The boy’s were beaten 10-8. Chase Hadley finished 3-0 while brother Gavin Hadley finished 3-0.
This week the Pirates start the regional team tournament. Winners advance while losers will be finished.
