Moapa Valley High School was well-represented at Girls Golf Regionals in Mesquite, Nevada this week. The first day of the competition was held at the Casablanca Golf Course. The second day was held at the Palms Golf Course.
Patricia Slaughter competed in the two-day competition. With a combined score of 213, she qualified to compete at State. She will travel with Coach Steffanie Gray to Truckee, California to compete for the state title.
“We have run a great program this season,” said Coach Gray. “All of our girls tried very hard and showed steady improvement. I am excited to have Patricia represent MVHS at Schaffer’s Mill Golf Course. It’s a beautiful course and I can’t wait to see her compete.”
“Hopefully enough girls will try this sport that we can take a team to state next year,” Gray added. “Golf isn’t easy, but it is definitely a sport you can continue to play for many years. While it is competitive, everyone is very polite and friendly and that is truly refreshing during competition.”
Good luck at the State Girls Golf Tournament, Patricia.
