MVHS Girls First In Bulldog Tournament

The Moapa Valley High School Track and Field teams made their 2019 debut on Friday at the Bulldog Early Bird Invitational in Mesquite. When it was finished the Pirate girls team had won the meet with 159 team points over second place Virgin Valley with 139.5 points.

Cimarron-Memorial won the boys with 158 points with Moapa Valley and Virgin Valley finishing in a tie for second place with 113.5 points each.

Hailey Williams finished sixth in the 200 meters at 29.91. Emma Humes took seventh place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:07.75. Ashlyn Western won the 800 meters with a time of 2:34.49. Western also placed first in the 3200 meters at 13:24.61. Andi Hillstead placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:52,13. She placed second in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:23.26. Laura Adams placed third in the 3200 meters with a time of 14:25.66.

Hanna Watson placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.70 and finished first in the pole vault with a vault of 9-6 and the long jump with a jump of 15-11.75. Faith Witter finished second in the vault with a vault of 8-6.

Skotlyn Hill placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.48. She placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.60 and finished first in the high jump with a jump of 4-10.

Kayla Walters finished eighth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 56.77.
The 4X200 meter relay team of Coy Overson, Faith Witter, Kyla Bradshaw and Williams finished third with a time of 2:02.73.
The 4X400 relay team also finished third with a time of 4:29.15 including Watson, Western, Hill and Hanna Williams.

The 4X800 relay team placed first with a time of 11:26.64, that team consisted of Adams, Hilstead, Samantha Thompson and Humes.

In the shotput event, Kayla Walters placed third with a throw of 24-8 ¾. Averee Widdison placed fourth at 25-8. Jasman Parra finished seventh at 24-6.½.
Madyson Whitney finished second in the Discus with a throw of 81-1, Bradshaw placed third at 78-10 and Walters placed fifth at 75-2.

On the boys side, Tristan Lehman took sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.28. He won the long jump with a jump of 18-91/4.
Jerrick Stastny finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.28. He was also first in the 3200 meters at 11:34.73.

Preston Humes finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.27. He finished fourth in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:53.73. Evan Conger placed fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:17.24. He placed eighth in the 1600 with a time of 5:21.09. Byrton Dorsey finished seventh in the 1600 at 5:20.47. He finished second in the 3200 at 11:35.91. Max Shambaugh finished sixth in the 3200 at 11:59.54.

Garret Clove placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles at 19.56. He finished third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.95.
The 4X800 meter relay team won first with a time of 9:04.43.
Josh Cox won the Discus with a throw of 126-7. Kele Henderson placed sixth with a throw of 98-09.

Yadon Witsken placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet. Will Uri placed fifth with a vault of 8 feet. Uri also placed sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 35-3.
