The Progress
Professional Golf Association big hitter Bryson DeChambeau in coming to Mesquite. On Monday, Aug. 16, DeChambeau announced on his Instagram account that he has accepted an invitation to compete in the Professional Long Drivers World Championship to be held in Mesquite on September 27-October 1.
DeChambeau is the first regular PGA Tour player to compete in the Pro. Long Drive Championships.
The 27-year-old DeChambeau is ranked sixth in the world by the PGA and is considered the longest hitter on the tour.
His addition to the Mesquite event no doubt will bring golf enthusiasts en masse to the event which will be held at the Mesquite Sports and Events Center.
DeChambeau won the US Open in 2020 and is always one of the favorites.
But despite his exploits on the tour, DeChambeau is actually not being considered as a favorite to win the event. A host of Professional Long Drive members have competitive drives exceeding 400 yards.
