Northern 3A
North Valleys at Truckee
Last Saturday, it was proof that a shift in power is happening in the Northern 3A. North Valleys traveled to Surprise Stadium in Truckee and surprised the Wolverines by out scoring them 21-0 in the first half before the Wolverines were able to get on the scoreboard.

North Valleys scored on their first drive of the game. They followed by intercepting a Truckee pass in the endzone when it looked like Truckee would tie the game. It led to an 80 drive for the Panthers and a 14-0 lead. On Truckee’s next possession the Panthers blocked a Truckee punt and recovered it at the Truckee 13-yardline. North Valleys scored to start the second quarter for a 21-0 lead.

Truckee scored twice in the second quarter. The first after a Panthers bad snap on a punt gave the Wolverines the ball at the 4-yardline. The second on a drive late in the second quarter. Truckee tied the game on the kickoff return to start the second half scoring the 2-point conversion making up for the missed extra point in the first half.

North Valleys scored the game winner going on 71 yards driving through the Truckee defense for the 28-21 final. Truckee ended their effort on offense with an interception then letting the Panthers run the final 8 minutes of the game.

With the win the Panthers are in first place of the western division and remain undefeated at 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the west. Truckee drops to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the west.

Elko at Lowry
In Winnemucca the Lowry Buckaroos were undefeated heading into the first league game. Elko was 2-2. It was Elko that beat the undefeated Buckaroos 33-14 giving the Indians a 3-2 record overall and Lowry drops to 4-1.

Lowry scored first then Elko followed by Lowry. The game was 14-14 when the Indians scored the next 26 unanswered points winning their 400th game in Elko high school history. Elko is 1-0 in the east while Lowry drops to 0-1.

Hug at South Tahoe
The South Tahoe Vikings got their first win of the season, a 6-0 win over the Hug Hawks.

Sparks at Wooster
Sparks beat Wooster 19-6.

Southern 3A
Pahrump at Boulder City
The Boulder City Eagles beat the Pahrump Valley Trojans 27-22 for their first Mountain division win. The Eagles are 3-2 this season while the Trojans are surprisingly 0-4.

Eldorado at Cadence
Eldorado is 1-0 in the Mountain division. They beat Cadence 47-6 last Friday night. Cadence is still winless this year at 0-5. Cadence has allowed 247 points so far this season while scoring just 12.

Western at Valley
The Valley Vikings won their home game against the Western Warriors 27-12. Western is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in league play.
