Northern 3A
The playoff bracket for the north is as follows:
Truckee will host Fernley, the defending state champion, on Friday night. That’s right, Friday night lights in Truckee. Truckee will bring in portable lights for the game. Truckee is the second seed in the west. Fernley is the #3 seed from the east.
The winner will travel to Elko the #1 seed from the east.
Churchill County the #2 seed from the east will host the #3 seed from the west, Sparks. That winner will travel to #1 North Valleys.
Last week, Lowry lost to Churchill County 49-13. Elko pounded Spring Creek 49-0. Wooster beat Hug 54-14. Fernley beat Dayton 57-0. South Tahoe forfeited to Truckee and North Valleys beat Sparks 31-7.
Southern 3A
Last week, Pahrump Valley won, 49-0 over Valley. SLAM beat Eldorado 34-12. Boulder City shut out Cadence, 64-0. Boulder City lost the tie breaker to Eldorado when they lost to the Sun Devils 15-14. Rancho beat Western 54-0.
Moapa Valley will have a bye this week as the #1 seed from the Desert Division.
Virgin Valley, the #2 seed, will host Eldorado on Friday night in the first round of the state playoffs. The Dawgs beat Eldorado on August 27, 47-0 in Mesquite.
The winner of that game will travel to Pahrump Valley, the #1 seed from the Mountain next week for a berth in the state semifinals. Virgin Valley beat the Trojans in week three, 42-18.
Moapa Valley awaits the winner of SLAM and Valley this week. SLAM is the #2 seed from the Mountain division who beat the Dawgs 21-14 in September.
SLAM will host Valley at Eldorado High School this Friday night. SLAM beat Valley 31-13 on September 3.
The State game is scheduled to be played at Reno High School unless two southern teams are playing for the title.
