Bulldogs Flag Football Beats Legacy, 32-0

The Virgin Valley High School Flag Football team will head into the holiday break on a roll after dispatching Legacy of North Las Vegas, 32-0, on Thursday, Dec. 16 inside a frigid Evan Wilson Stadium at Virgin Valley High School.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-0 overall record after their workman-like performance against the Lady Longhorns.

Virgin Valley opened the scoring on its second possession by driving 52 yards in eight plays. Graciee Draney ran the final 10 yards for the touchdown and quarterback Gabby Potter completed the conversion pass to Calla Haviland putting the home team up 7-0.

After forcing Legacy into a three-and-out, the Lady Bulldogs scored three plays later when Potter threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Haviland to up the lead to 13-0 with 1:05 left in the opening quarter.
Virgin Valley extended the margin to 20-0 when Potter connected on a 43-yard scoring pass to Kelly Denninghoff with 1:44 remaining before halftime.

Potter threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Tyra Ludvigson midway through the third quarter giving Virgin Valley a 26-0 advantage.

Natalie Plancarte closed out the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs running 11 yards for a touchdown with 1:06 to go in the third quarter.

The Virgin Valley defense held Legacy to just 61 yards of total offense while the offense totaled 295 yards.

Potter completed 7-of-15 passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Haviland had two receptions for 59 yards while Denninghoff had two catches for 54 yards. Denninghoff also had an interception on defense.
Draney led the rushing attack with 50 yards on eight carries.

Virgin Valley will return from the holiday break on January 4 when they face rival Moapa Valley in a non-league contest inside Jeff Keel Stadium in Overton beginning at 4:30 pm.

They will play at Coronado in Henderson on January 7 before opening league play at Eldorado of Las Vegas on January 14.
