The Moapa Valley High School Boys Basketball team went 1-1 last week on a pair of games. They started with a loss at SLAM, 66-40, on Tuesday, Jan. 4. Then they went on to a win at home on Saturday against Pahrump Valley, 69-51.
In Henderson the SLAM Bulls held a small 14-10 lead by the end of the first quarter. SLAM took control of the game by out-scoring the Pirates in the second quarter 22-13. They increased the lead in the third quarter with a 15-11 advantage, then sealed the win outscoring the Pirates in the fourth quarter, 15-6.
The Bulls were led by four players in double figures. Noah Tomlin led everyone with 16 points. Trevon Collier scored 13 as well as Eddie Lazono and Danel Nevil.
On Saturday, the Pirates played a fast game against the Trojans. Pahrump Valley was 4-5 after the loss.
The Pirates were led by Austin Heiselbetz and Peyton Neilson with 13 points apiece.
Moapa Valley will travel to Boulder City on Tuesday and will host Somerset Losee on Friday night at 6:30 pm.
