Pirates Put Away Miners In 3 Sets

The Moapa Valley High School Volleyball team destroyed the visiting Sunrise Mountain team in a match played on Wednesday, Sept. 28 in the Pirate gym.
The Pirates dominated the Miners in three sets with scores of 25-9, 25-7 and 25-10.

Pirate senior Sydney Reese led the team with 14 kills in the match. Alyssa Jolley and Sienna Neilson got five kills apiece.

Service aces were plentiful for the Pirates in the match with a total of 18 for the team. Laila Frei scored 6 aces while Alexa Nuckles scored 5.
MVHS junior Brooke Houston chalked up 18 assists in the match. Laila Frei got 8.

The Lady Pirates are now 14-9 overall and undefeated at 7-0 in league play. Maxpreps ranks the team #1 in the 3A South Desert League and #4 in the state.
The Pirates will host Virgin Valley on Tuesday night, Oct. 11 beginning at 6 pm.

The Bulldogs are 9-8 overall and 2-1 in league play. This is the first time the two rival teams have met this year.
