The Dawgs went 0-1-1 for the week. The Bulldogs lost to Boulder City on Monday Oct. 3, 3-5, and tied Somerset-Skypoint, 1-1, on Thursday Oct.6.

The Bulldogs matched Boulder City 2-2 in the first half but faded in the second falling 3-5.
The Somerset Eagles came to town with a good record hoping to improve their 3A chances but the Dawgs were up to the task. It was pretty much all defensive for the teams as they repulsed shots on goal.

Each goalkeeper had huge saves on both sides during the first half of play. Bulldog keeper Daniel Isidro had a big save in the first. The Eagles showed a great passing attack during the game but could not get by the Dawgs back line.

The Dawgs got the first goal of the match four minutes into the second period on a good pass from Zack Trimming to Andrae Duran for a 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs seemed to score goal on a Trimming shot that hit the top bar and fell on the net line but the refs called it off and continued play.

The teams battled evenly the rest of the match with the keepers blocking shots. The Eagles finally managed to hit goal at the 69 minute mark tying the match at 1-1.
The teams attacked the other’s side the rest of the way but could not strike goal.
“I’m super proud,” said Bulldog coach Junior Flores. “We played a heck of a game. Danny (Keeper Isidro) absolutely killed it yesterday with his play in the net.”

The Bulldogs travel for their next three games before returning to host Equipo Academy on October 25.
