Fans from both sides are welcome!
This year’s Hammer Football Game, highlighting the epic rivalry between the two high schools of Moapa and Virgin Valleys, will be held on Friday night at 7 pm in Mesquite.
To get the fun started, though, the Mesquite Department of Athletics and Leisure Services is holding a Food Truck Tailgate Party before the game from 3-7 pm at the Mesquite Welcome Center: 460 N. Sandhill Blvd. Best of all, high school football fans of all ages, and from BOTH valleys, are cordially invited to the party.
“This can be great for both communities’ families, friends and fans!” said Department of Athletics and Leisure Services Director Nick Montoya. “It is an opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy a great rivalry. We are excited to be a part of it and help bring both communities together.”
Like any self-respecting tailgate party should, there will be plenty of great food options. The party will offer some of the best in food trucks from the region including The Corndog Company, SmokeN’Grind, MexicanGrub and Fired Up Creations.
There will also be bounce houses for the kids. And live music will be provided by “Dry Heat.”
“The City of Mesquite is extremely proud of the Bulldogs and we are looking forward to an exciting game!” Montoya said.
Fans of both the Bulldogs and the Pirates are welcome to come down and enjoy the fun! For more information about this event call 702-346-8732.
