VVHS Girls Soccer

The Bulldog Soccer gals have scored 39 goals in their last five games while giving up zero goals. They have run roughshod over the opposition as the post season tournament nears.
The Dawgs defeated the Desert Shields from Cheyenne H.S. easily 8-0 on Thursday night Oct. 20. The Bulldogs hit goal three times in the first half, adding five more in the second period to win going away.

The Lady Dogs controlled the offensive side with 19 shots on goal distributed to 9 Bulldogs. Leading the way for the Bulldogs were Alexis Rodriquez with a hat trick (3 goals), top scorer Katrina Beltran added one goal and two assists followed by Sadie Burton, Natalie Isidro, Emily Jimenez, Linda Kiowa with a goal each to round out the scoring.
“We celebrated our seniors with an emotional night,” said Bulldog head coach Natalie Nakiyama. “I am so proud of our seniors and their supporting cast. We will continue to work harder as the season comes to an end and playoffs arrive at our doorstep.”

The Bulldogs travel to Mojave High School on Monday and Chaparral on Wednesday to end the regular season.
The Bulldogs defeated the Rattlers 8-0 and the Cowboys during their streak. The wins would give the Dawgs a 7-1 3A Desert League record and 11-3 overall. The Bulldogs currently sit in second place behind the Pirates from Moapa Valley.

VVHS Soccer

After defeating their Pirate rivals easily on October 17, the VVHS Boys Soccer team hit the road for two games on the road last week.
The Bulldogs Played Cheyenne on Wednesday, Oct. 19 and stayed with the Desert Shields for most of the first half. Zach Trimming and freshman Oster Gavin had a goal each in the half as they trailed 3-2.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season hosting Equipo Academy on Tuesday Oct. 25 and Basic High School on Thursday Oct. 27 with hopes of making the 3A playoffs.

VVHS Volleyball

The Lady Bulldogs won two key matches last week to remain in the chase for the number two seed from the Desert League.
Virgin Valley currently stands at 9-5 in league play with two matches remaining – at Sunrise Mountain and home against first-place Moapa Valley.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Eldorado 3-0 last Monday in Las Vegas winning by scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 26-24.

Sara Murri led Virgin Valley with 15 assists, five service aces and three digs with Riley Price adding seven kills, three aces and three digs. Sweden Smith chipped in with four kills, three aces and four digs.
The Lady Bulldogs swept Somerset Academy-Losee 3-0 inside the VVHS gym last Wednesday by scores of 25-8, 25-21 and 25-12.

Price led the way with eight kills and 13 digs while Murri recorded 22 assists to go along with five digs.
Hailey Velinga and Kinzley Lee each had nine digs with Reggi Frei adding five kills and seven digs. Evia Toone chipped in with seven digs and Marianna Ruiz had six kills.

The Lady Bulldogs play at Sunrise Mountain in Las Vegas on Tuesday and then return home to host rival Moapa Valley in the regular-season finale on Thursday at 6 p.m.
