Pirates Take Down Canyon Springs

The Moapa Valley High School baseball team had no problem beating a visiting Canyon Springs team on Thursday, March 23. The final score was 16-2, Pirates.

Moapa scored 9 runs in the bottom of the second inning taking a commanding lead in the game.
The Pirates added 5 more runs in the bottom of the third just before the Pioneers scored their two runs.

Moapa Valley scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth then held on for the win in five innings.

Tyson Staheli and Landon Wrzesinski each drove home 3 RBI in the game as well. They both had two hits in the game. Chandler Evans also had two hits and drove in a couple of runs to help in the win. Tahj Totten scored twice and drove in a run.

Lucas Pettingill had a couple of hits and a run scored. He also got the win as he pitched five innings allowing just three hits.

The Pirates were scheduled to play at Valley High School in Las Vegas, on Monday, Mar. 20. But as they got off the bus to play, Valley informed the team that they would be forfeiting the game due to lack of eligible players.

The Pirates are now 6-4 overall and 2-0 in league play.
They will host SLAM Tuesday, Mar. 28 at 3:30 pm. Then they will host Sunrise Mountain in a league game on Thursday at 3:30. The Pirates will travel to Boulder City on Friday.
