Bulldogs Win Two

The Virgin Valley High School boys volleyball team picked up two road victories last week to run their winning streak to three.

The Bulldogs recorded 3-1 wins at Amplus Academy in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 28; then followed that up with a victory over Pinecrest Academy-Cadence in Henderson on Thursday night.
VVHS, which is competing for the first time in volleyball this season, improved to 3-5 overall. They are playing an independent schedule this year with hopes to compete at the 3A level next school year.

After dropping the first game to Amplus 25-21, the Bulldogs rallied to win the last three games by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-19.

Destry Tobler had 15 kills and 10 digs to lead the Bulldogs while Nate Panjaitan recorded 31 assists to go along with seven digs and two service aces. Alex Rivera had 17 digs, Bryant Denninghoff seven kills and Aiden Muniz six digs.

Against Pinecrest-Cadence, VVHS won the first game 25-22 before dropping game two, 27-25. The Bulldogs won the final two games 25-19 and 25-21.

Panjaitan had 40 assists, 11 digs and two aces while Tobler added 21 kills and 17 digs to pace the Bulldogs. Denninghoff chipped in with seven kills and two blocked shots and Rom Gagliano had six kills. Rivera had 15 digs, McKay Mulitalo three aces and Angel Rosas-Jimenez two blocked shots.

Virgin Valley will play at Somerset Academy-Losee on Wednesday before returning home to host Pinecrest Academy-Sloan Canyon Thursday at 6 p.m. at the VVHS gymnasium.
