The Virgin Valley High School softball machine keeps humming along as the Lady Bulldogs picked up three more victories last week, all by the mercy rule, to remain unbeaten on the season.

VVHS had no problem in romping past Pine View of St. George, Utah, 15-1; Sunrise Mountain of Las Vegas, 21-0; and Clark of Las Vegas, 11-0.
The three wins improved Virgin Valley’s overall record to 18-0 on the season.

The Lady Bulldog bats were on fire during the week, belting eight home runs, eight doubles and three triples among their hits.

Against Pine View, Riley Price led the way. The senior blasted two home runs and drove in three runs, all while going the distance inside the circle giving up two hits, walking two and striking out 10 batters in the five-inning contest.

Freshman Davie Slack added a triple, double and four RBI, with senior Evia Toone adding two doubles and driving in two runs. Freshman Julia Leavitt chipped three hits and scored three runs.

In the rout of Sunrise Mountain, four different VVHS players homered. Ari Easton, Gracee Alejos, Hayden Owsley and Toone all went yard as the Lady Bulldogs erupted to score 14 runs in the second inning and added seven more in the third. The game was called after three innings.

Reggi Frei collected three hits, scored three runs and stole three bases for Virgin Valley. The junior also went the distance inside the circle giving up one hit, walking one and striking out five.
Slack also had three hits, including two doubles while Valerie Lucero doubled twice.

Against Clark, Virgin Valley scored four runs in the third and fourth innings and then walked the game off in the fifth with three runs.

Toone led off the frame with a triple and scored on a single by Destiny Moaei. Leavitt followed by drilling a pitch over the centerfield fence for a game-ending home run.

Brooklin Montoya also slugged a homer and doubled while Slack had two hits and drove in three runs. Natalie Plancarte and Toone both added triples.

Price went the distance inside the circle spacing just two hits, walking none and striking out 12 Clark batters.
