Bulldogs Improve Record With 3-0 Week

The Virgin Valley High School boys volleyball team picked up three more wins last week as they continue their late season surge.

The Bulldogs tallied road victories over Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, 3-0; Founders Academy of Las Vegas, 3-1; and at home against visiting Pinecrest Academy Cadence, 3-0.

The three results improves VVHS to 9-7 overall in the team’s inaugural season on the court. Virgin Valley is playing as an independent this season with hopes of competing in the 3A classification next school year.

Against Cadence, the Bulldogs won by scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-23 in their final home match of the season played on Monday, April 17.

Destry Tobler had six kills and five digs while Tyler Black added four kills and three digs to lead the Bulldogs. Nate Panjaitan had 18 assists and eight service aces while Aiden Muniz recorded eight digs and Andrew Muniz five digs. Angel Rosas-Jimenez chipped in with three kills.

Against Sloan Canyon, VVHS was victorious by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 28-26. Panjaitan led the way with 20 assists, five digs and three aces with Rome Gagliano getting six digs and five kills. Alex Rivera added 17 digs, Tobler 11 kills and Andrew Muniz five digs.

Against Founders Academy, the Bulldogs triumphed by scores of 25-10, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-17.
Tobler had eight kills and five digs and Gagliano six kills and five digs. Panjaitan recorded 17 assists and four aces while Conner Avrett had six digs and three aces. Lincoln Toone added five assists and Rosas-Jimenez five kills.

Virgin Valley will be on the road to face Mater Academy East Las Vegas on Thursday before concluding its inaugural season on May 2 against rival Moapa Valley in Overton.
