The Moapa Valley High School baseball team beat the Western Warriors 10-0 in five innings on Monday evening, May 8, in the first round of the Regional Championship tournament. The Pirates scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth for the ten point lead and the win.
Logan Schouten got the win for the Pirates, going three innings striking out six Warriors.
The Pirate hitters combined for nine hits in the four innings. Tahj Totten, Chance Houston and Schouten drove in two runs while Tyson Staheli, Schouten and Chandler Evans all hit doubles.
The Pirates will face a visiting Pahrump Valley team tomorrow at 4pm at Pirate field in the second round of the tournament.
